Public train service information system in MTR stations

MTR has deployed more than 300 Service Information Panels in all stations to enhance passenger experience in case of incidents that could affect train service. Placed in front of entrance gates in the concourse area, the screens provide safety and promotion information under normal situations. In case of an incident, line and station controllers have the ability to send out ad-hoc pre-defined or custom made screen messages to the affected stations. The composed message can be graphical or textual to indicate affected stations and type of incident. A pre-defined station route map also indicates the information graphically such that busy passengers can get first hand service information at a glance of the screen.

onActivity has developed an advanced messaging system to serve the complex backend and a collection of intuitive user interfaces for the system operators, thanks to the versatile capability of DISE Parser and shared content editing capability. Currently over 300 players covering 84 MTR stations are at work, while more SeIPs will be installed at over 90 stations until the end of 2015.

With our advanced technology and system integration capability, onActivity makes it easy for MTR to display ad-hoc and instant information, and as a result, delivering better service to passengers and improving its railway operations.
